Science in the Bible

The Bible was completed before the first century and there is no amendments or revisions as proven by Archaeology. The old testament was even completed before 300 B.C. However, the science in the Bible was so wonderful and the following are some of them:

Our Earth

It was always agreed that the earth is flat. The Earth is a sphere was first discover by Columbia through shipping round the earth in the 18th century. It had already been written in the Bible that the earth is a sphere.

"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth," Isaiah 40:22

In addition, it was only confirmed that the earth is neither hanged, nor held by anything, when the astronaut walked in the moon, and took picture of the earth. It had already been written in the Bible that the earth is suspensed in the emptiness.

"He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it" Job 26:7-8

Do you know which is larger, the moon or the sun ? Based on our vision, the moon should be larger than the sun. In fact, the sun is much larger than the moon. It is because the moon is much closer than the sun thus it seems larger in size. It had been written in the Bible that the sun is larger than the moon.

"Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also." Genesis 1:16

Physical Rules

Issac Newton discovered the rule for gravitational forces, and students studying Physics will remember there is a formula to calculate the time for a casting stone to hit the ground. It had already been written in the Bible there is a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones.

"A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones;" Ecclesiastes 3:5

Water cycle is a famous study in geography. Rain falls to river and then to sea. The water in river and sea is then heated to steam by the power from the sun. Thus, the sea will not be overfilled. It had been written in the Bible.

"All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, there they return again." Ecclesiastes 1:7

"Behold, God is great, and we don not know Him; nor can the number of His years be discovered. For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man. Indeed, can anyone understanding the spreading of clouds, the thunder from His canopy ?" Job 36:26-29

Historical Accuracy

The historical accuracy of the Scriptures is likewise in a class by itself, far superior to the written records of Egypt, Assyria, and other early nations. Archeological confirmations of the Biblical record have been almost innumerable in the last century. Dr. Nelson Glueck, probably the greatest modern authority on Israeli archeology, has said:

"No archeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference. Scores of archeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline or in exact detail historical statements in the Bible. And, by the same token, proper evaluation of Biblical descriptions has often led to amazing discoveries."

Unique Structure

The remarkable structure of the Bible should also be stressed. Although it is a collection of 66 books, written by 40 or more different men over a period of 2,000 years, it is clearly one Book, with perfect unity and consistency throughout.

The individual writers, at the time of writing, had no idea that their message was eventually to be incorporated into such a Book, but each nevertheless fits perfectly into place and serves its own unique purpose as a component of the whole. Anyone who diligently studies the Bible will continually find remarkable structural and mathematical patterns woven throughout its fabric, with an intricacy and symmetry incapable of explanation by chance or collusion.

The one consistent theme of the Bible, developing in grandeur from Genesis to Revelation, is God's great work in the creation and redemption of all things, through His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
